Emanuel To Campaign For Obama In Florida, Ohio
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel will be spending the next two weekends travelling to Florida and Ohio to campaign for President Barack Obama.
WBBM Newsradio Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports the mayor is expected to be campaigning for Obama from Saturday to Monday in Florida. He told reporters on Wednesday he'll also travel to Ohio next weekend.
"I will campaign for him, I will do anything that's important, because I think he is the right choice for America, and America's future, and for the middle class families," he said.
Emanuel, Obama's former chief of staff, said the president is a personal friend, and a friend to the city of Chicago.
"And he's been a great president," Emanuel said.
In Florida, Emanuel is expected to help the effort to get out the vote, and to reach out to the Jewish community to stress Obama's support of Israel.
