Emanuel: Stanley Cup Win 'A Testament' To Blackhawks' Culture
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Like thousands of other Blackhawks fans, Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he was up all night celebrating the team's Stanley Cup win, but he wasn't complaining about the lack of sleep.
On Tuesday morning, the mayor was on the West Side, where an audience of education activists and parents applauded as he said winning the Stanley Cup was a tremendous victory for the Blackhawks and their coach.
"It has meant as much for the players to win for their fans as it meant for the fans to be able to see it here in the city," Emanuel said. "We're going to have a parade worthy of a dynasty in the city of Chicago. To be able to win three times in six years is a testament."

"It's a testament to all the players, and the culture … both from [owner] Rocky Wirtz, all the way down to all the players on the team," he added.
Emanuel also was asked if there's a lesson in the team's path to victory for political leaders in Springfield, where efforts to hammer out a state budget have reached an apparent stalemate and descended into finger-pointing and heated rhetoric.
"One lesson, we have one state, one goal; and the Blackhawks' message was 'One Goal,'" he said.
The mayor admitted lawmakers aren't close to reaching that goal yet.
