Elmwood Park Man Reports Burglary, Gets Arrested With Pot
ELMWOOD PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A man who called police to report a burglary attempt was arrested on drug charges after police searched his home.
Kamil Starzec, 20, of the 2400 block of North 73rd Court in Elmwood Park, was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, manufacture and delivery of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they responded to the home after being called about a residential burglary in process. While looking through the home for possible offenders who had allegedly targeted Starzec, officers said they found marijuana.
Starzec allegedly told officers he believed unknown persons were trying to break in because he had marijuana and cash inside his home, police said in the report.
Elmwood Park Deputy Police Chief Andrew Hock said his officers located felony amounts of drugs in the home.
According the police report, Alprazolam pills (a controlled substance), drug paraphernalia, packaging material and cash were found in the home.
Starzec's court date has not been set.
