Elgin Hairdresser Accused Of Stealing Thousands From Elderly Client
(CBS) -- A suburban hair stylist is charged with six felonies after being accused of stealing a customer's credit card information and going on a months-long spending spree, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.
Prosecutors say 42-year-old Jenifer Perik of Elgin copied down the Discover Card number of a 94-year-old client and used the information on more than 35 occasions, making purchases totaling $6,100.

DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett says the elderly can be at times seen as an easy target when it comes to financial crimes, but he says in this case the victim paid close attention to her statements and contacted Lisle police who unraveled the alleged scheme.
Perik is charged with aggravated identity theft, unlawful use of a credit card, financial institution fraud and continuing a financial crimes enterprise.
Bond was set at $200,000.
