Two Suburban Banks Robbed
ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) -- Two Banks in Elgin and Lyons were robbed Saturday.
About 9:15 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the Fifth Third Bank branch at 1645 Larkin Ave. in Elgin and announced the robbery, a release from Elgin police said. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in an unknown direction.
No one was injured during this robbery, police said. FBI personnel were on the scene, police said.
Another bank was robbed Saturday in west suburban Lyons. The suspect robbed the Standard Bank at 8601 W. Ogden Ave., according to the FBI Bandit Tracker site.
A weapon was not displayed by the robber, the FBI said.
The suspect is described as a 35-year-old African American man wearing a tan coat, white collared shirt, and black baggy pants, the FBI said.
The suspect also wore white gym shoes with black bottoms, black cloth gloves, sunglasses and a brown skull-type hat, the FBI said.
