Elderly Woman Injured When Car Crashes Into South Side Building
CHICAGO (CBS) -- An elderly woman was injured Sunday morning when the car she was driving crashed into a medical building in the South Side Auburn-Gresham neighborhood after it had been rear-ended by a truck.
About 9:45 a.m., the woman's small Hyundai sedan was rear-ended by a truck at 79th and Halsted streets, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.
This caused the woman's car to crash into the building at 746 W. 79th St., which is home to the 79th and Halsted Medical Center, which includes a doctor's and dentist's office, as well as a pharmacy, according to a sign outside the building.
No pedestrians were injured in the crash, Langford said.
Both drivers were taken to Saint Bernard Hospital, where they were listed in good condition, Langford said.
