Elderly Man Struck, Killed By Car On Northwest Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- An elderly man is dead after a car hit him Thursday morning in the Northwest Side Dunning neighborhood.
Nicholas Marx Jr., 85, was hit at 5:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of North Narragansett Avenue after he walked into the street in front of northbound traffic, authorities said.
He was taken to Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:01 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The driver is not expected to be charged or cited for the crash, police said.
The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
