Eight Kids Injured As Buses Collide Near Crete
CRETE, Ill. (STMW) - Eight south suburban students were transported to hospitals with minor injuries after two school buses collided Wednesday afternoon near south suburban Crete, the SouthtownStar is reporting.
According to Randy Manns, assistant chief with the Steger Estates Fire Protection District, one bus rear-ended another at 1983 Exchange St. at about 2:45 p.m.
All the injuries to the Crete-Monee District 201-U were minor and all were expected to be treated and released, Manns said.
The buses carried a total of about 75 students, he said.
