Ebert Funeral Set For Monday At Holy Name
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The funeral for legendary Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Holy Name Cathedral, according to a press release from a publicist for Ebert's family.
The service will be open to friends and fans but seating will be limited, with open seats filled on a first come, first served basis.
The family asked that donations should be made to The Ebert Foundation, c/o Northern Trust at 50 S. LaSalle Street, in lieu of flowers. The Ebert Foundation supports arts and education programs.
A memorial tribute is currently being planned for Thursday, April 11.
The famed movie critic, who helped popularize film criticism with his writings and syndicated television show, died Thursday after a series of health problems that included battles with thyroid and salivary gland cancer. He was 70.
