Eastbound I-80/94 Reopens After 3-Semi Crash In Indiana
Updated 12/11/13 - 10:15 a.m.
GARY, Ind. (STMW) -- All lanes have reopened on Interstate 80/94 in northwest Indiana after three semi trucks and one car were involved in a crash Wednesday morning, closing all eastbound lanes to traffic just in time for the morning commute.
Officers responded to the crash about 5:50 a.m. near the Cline Avenue exit in Gary, Ind., Indiana State Police Cpl. Larry Koebcke said. There were no injuries, according to an Indiana State Police spokesman.
Three semi trucks and one passenger car were involved in the crash, police said.
Police believe slick road conditions due to overnight snowfall may have played a role in the crash, but a spokesman said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
"We have light snow and slick conditions out there and we're thinking drivers were traveling too fast," police said. "We're still waiting for a trooper to give us an update, but we know the road conditions are bad."
