East Coast Snow Snarls Chicago Airports

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A monstrous snowstorm pounding the East Coast, means another another day of canceled and delayed flights at Chicago's airports.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Regine Schlesinger reports, snow in the Chicago area and ice in the Southeast, forced the cancellation of nearly 650 flights at O'Hare and Midway international airports on Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning, 200 flights had been canceled at O'Hare, and Midway reported 30 cancellations--mostly to East Coast cities. Neither airport was reporting delays.

The weather in the immediate Chicago area has improved. A snowstorm could dump a foot in New York and even more in New England.
"Not many flights are going to leave Logan Airport today. Airlines are staying away from Boston. They moved their planes out. They knew this storm was coming," said Carl Stevens of WBZ-AM in Boston. "Some passengers are stuck here, but Logan Airport is pretty much a ghost town."
Travel to New York, Philadelphia and other East Coast destinations is expected to be disrupted.
