Early Voting Locations Reopen In Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago's early voting locations reopened on Friday, after virtually all of them were closed for two days due to the blizzard.
All of the city's early voting locations -- except the Chicago Board of Elections' main office at 69 W. Washington St. -- had been closed since Wednesday, because of the snowstorm.
Jose Santiago, executive director of the city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications, said Friday morning that the city's early voting locations were all open again on Friday.
The city has one early voting site in all 50 wards, plus one at the main elections office at 69 W. Washington St.
Most of the ward locations are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, except for Abraham Lincoln's birthday on Feb. 11. Three sites are open seven days a week, including Lincoln's birthday.
Voters can vote early at any site in the city, not just the one in their own ward. To see a list of the city's early voting sites, click here.
Early voting runs through Feb. 17. Voters do not need a reason to vote early.
Election day for the mayor's race, aldermanic races and other citywide offices is on Feb. 22.
