Early Voting Begins For 2nd District, Suburban Races
The crowded 2nd Congressional District race is grabbing most of the headlines, and it includes not only parts of the South Side of Chicago but also parts of suburban Cook and two other counties.
Cook County Clerk David Orr says voters will going to the polls to help other contests around the suburbs.
"There is nothing else in Chicago but that special election, but in suburban Cook we have a really hot election in Cicero for mayor and other offices, we have elections in Berwyn, we have a pretty hot election in Calumet City," said Orr.
There also are municipal races in Elgin and Palatine among other places. Early voting continues through Saturday, Feb. 23.
