DuPage County Makes Last-Minute Push For Cubs
(CBS) DuPage County is the latest Chicago area making a push to lure the Cubs out of Wrigleyville.
As the Cubs continue to fight the city over their proposal to restore Wrigley Field, DuPage County wants the Cubs to make the move West.
According to a report from Crain's Chicago Business, DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin declared, "We are throwing our hat in the ring."
Choose DuPage, DuPage County's development organization, has identified "at least two to four good sites and plan to sit down with Ricketts within 10 days," Cronin said.
"We believe he will be receptive, based on conversations and discussions we've had with people who talk on his behalf," Mr. Cronin said. "I believe we will be given a fair and realistic opportunity. If I didn't think we had a real opportunity, I wouldn't make this offer."
Rosemont and Cicero have also made pushes for the Cubs.
