DuPage Considering Lifting Video Gambling Ban
(CBS) -- Five years after the DuPage County Board banned video gaming machines, they could soon be coming to an establishment near you, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.
The County Board is debating if there is interest in allowing video gambling in bars and restaurants under its jurisdiction in unincorporated areas of DuPage.

Bensenville Park District President John Wassinger says lifting the ban would make sense because it is already legal in neighboring Wood Dale and Franklin Park.
"Since it has been allowed in so many municipalities, within those corporate entities, it would seem reasonable to me and there hasn't been any rash of complaints or crime or anything else," said Wassinger.
Wassinger estimates video gambling machines would bring in upwards of $120,000 a year to the park district. He says introducing them isn't a sure thing if the ban is lifted, but he would like the district to be able to make that call.
