Dunn Clears Waivers, Eligible For Any Trade
(CBS) White Sox slugger Adam Dunn has cleared waivers and is eligible to be traded to any team, CBS Sports' John Heyman reports.
Dunn is owed nearly $20 million through the 2014 season, so it stands to reason why no team claimed him off waivers.
Still, as Heyman reports, Dunn's recent hot streak could make him more appealing to a team looking for a veteran bat down the stretch. He's hitting .297 since the All-Star break and .391 (9-for-23) in August.
Heyman points to the Rangers and Orioles as two teams that might be interested in Dunn's services.
If the White Sox were able to work out a trade, it's likely they'd have to eat a large portion of his salary.
