Dunn Appreciates Support From Soriano
By Adam Hoge-
CHICAGO (CBS) One day after Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano said he understood what Adam Dunn is going through with the fans in Chicago, the White Sox designated hitter said he appreciated the support.
"He's been through it," Dunn said Wednesday. "He knows what I'm going through and I think that's pretty classy of him."
Soriano said the criticism from Chicago fans is the "worst", but Dunn showed a little more compassion for his critics.
"I can sort of understand where they are coming from, but it obviously doesn't make it easy," Dunn said. "It's like that in every city. It's not just Chicago or the big markets. It's like that in every city."
Still, Dunn has seen the worst of it lately as he was showered with boos in the first two games of the Cubs series.
"When I'm walking back to the dugout, I'm probably not thinking about the fans," he said. "I'm probably thinking, you know, I don't really know what I'm thinking of afterwards … I mean, you hear it, but, I don't know how to explain it to you."
For now, Dunn is putting a positive spin on it:
"You hear it, but I've been saying all along it's been all the Cubs fans booing here."
