Dump Truck Accident Snags Bishop Ford Freeway
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Traffic jams mounted on the Bishop Ford Freeway Tuesday morning, when a dump truck slammed into a divider wall and left a lane blocked.
The accident happened sometime before 6 a.m. on the left inbound lane of the Bishop Ford, just before Cottage Grove Avenue. The dump truck appeared to be headed to a nearby work zone.
CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports the dump truck hit a barrier wall and knocked its left front wheel askew. The left front bumper was pulled into a wheel well.
Bumper-to-bumper backups progressed on the inbound Bishop Ford following the accident, all the way south even before the Steel Bridge over the Little Calumet River.
