Drug Suspect Shot During Chase Through NW Burbs
ITASCA, Ill. (CBS) -- A police chase that started in northwest suburban Carpentersville on Tuesday ended more than 20 miles away in Itasca when police shot the suspect.
Police said the chase began when officers tried to arrest a suspect in a drug case in Carpentersville around 1 p.m. The officers were working an undercover case and met at a McDonald's to buy drugs from suspected drug dealers.
One of the suspects fled the scene in a car and rammed a police car twice before taking off.
Officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect during the chase and the suspect was shot in the head. His condition was not immediately available.
Police also said three officers suffered minor injuries in the incident.
