Driver Injured When Taxicab Strikes Fire Truck Downtown
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A taxicab driver was hospitalized Thursday morning after the cab he was driving struck a Chicago Fire Department truck at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive.
The accident happened at 10:20 a.m. at Michigan and Wacker, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The cab driver was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, with back pain, according to Fire Media. Five CFD personnel who were on the truck and a passenger in the cab refused treatment, Fire Media said.
Traffic, including some CTA buses, had to be rerouted around the scene as paramedics and police responded.
