Driver Hits Guardrail, Goes Off Road On I-57
POSEN, Ill. (CBS) -- A motorist drove through a guardrail and went off the road on Interstate 57 early Monday, but escaped serious injury.
As Kris Habermehl reports from Chopper 2 HD, sometime before 6 a.m., the driver ran through the guardrail and took out its support posts on inbound I-57 just past Sibley Boulevard.
The car catapulted down the embankment on the side of the expressway, and both of the driver's side doors were sheared off.
But when rescue crews arrived, the driver was sitting up and talking.
He was taken to an area hospital.
