Driver, Bicyclist Seriously Hurt In Madison Street Crash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A driver and a bicyclist were seriously hurt overnight when a car slammed into the center median strip and flipped over on busy Madison Street.
As CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports, Madison Street remained closed between Hoyne and Seeley avenues just west of the United Center as of the 6 a.m. hour. The wreckage of the black car remained at the scene, as police collect evidence.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. The car slammed into the median divider and left it seriously damaged, then flipped over and hit a bicyclist. Both the female driver and the bicyclist were taken to area hospitals, a Monroe District captain said.
The bicyclist was critically injured while the driver was seriously injured, Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva said. Both were being treated at Stroger Hospital of Cook County Thursday morning.
