Driver Arrested For DUI After Pedestrian Killed In McHenry Crash
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The driver of a pickup that fatally struck a pedestrian Tuesday night in northwest suburban McHenry has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
Authorities were called to the 4200 block of West Crystal Lake Road at 9:08 p.m. after a white 2011 Ford F-250 hit a male pedestrian, according to a statement from the McHenry Police Department.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, although his age and identity were not released early Wednesday, police said.
The pickup's driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and charges against the driver are pending, according to police.
No other injuries were reported, police said. The crash remains under investigation by McHenry police and the Critical Accident Investigation Team.
