Downtown Bank Robbed At Start Of Business Day
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A bank was robbed Friday morning at Wabash Avenue and Lake Street downtown.
The Chicago Community Bank Branch at 52 E. Lake St. was robbed around 9:20 a.m., police said.
A dispatch bulletin indicated that a man wearing sun glasses was armed with a gun and he gave a teller a note and fled with cash.
The man was described as being in his 50s, African-American and about 6 feet 2 inches tall, according to the bulletin. There was no dye pack included in the cash.
As of 9:45 a.m., the bank was closed, and two police officers were inside gathering information. No one was injured.
