Door-Knocking Suspects Sought In Burglaries
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (STMW) - Police in Glen Ellyn are investigating a series of burglaries that began in the western suburb in June.
The burglaries have all taken place since June in residential areas in the northern part of the village, according to a release from Glen Ellyn police.
The suspected burglars typically force their way into the homes to take electronics and jewelry after knocking on the door to see if someone is home, the release said. If a homeowner answers, they come up with a story to justify knocking.
No one has been arrested in connection with the burglaries, the release said.
Police are urging residents to report suspicious people or vehicles -- especially people who seem to be watching neighborhood activity -- to authorities by calling 911 immediately, the release said.
