Trump Meets With Pence, Gingrich In Indiana

CHICAGO (CBS) -- After confirming he's narrowed his list of potential running mates to three names, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump met with two of the men on his short list in Indiana on Wednesday -- Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Trump arrived at the Indiana Governor's Residence to meet with Pence at about 9:15 a.m. local time, after his son, Donald Jr.; his daughter, Ivanka; and her husband Jared Kushner arrived earlier in the morning. Trump left around 10:30 a.m., smiling and waving to the media gathered outside.
Later Wednesday, Trump met with Gingrich at the Conrad Hotel in Indianapolis, according to CBS 4 Indy.
CBS News has reported that Trump will make his vice presidential pick public on Friday.
Tuesday evening, Pence introduced Trump at a campaign rally in Westfield, just north of Indianapolis, and compared Trump to Ronald Reagan as a man who understands America's "boundless potential."
"Donald Trump knows that the boundless potential of the American people awaits and we can make America Great Again," Pence said. The Indiana governor also said Trump connected with voters much like Reagan did in the 1980s.
At the rally, Trump also praised Pence as a "good man," and hinted Pence might end up as his running mate.
"I don't know if he's going to be your governor or your vice president," Trump said. "Who the hell knows?"
Pence faces a noon Friday deadline to withdraw from the race for governor in Indiana if he is to run alongside Trump in the November election, since he cannot run for both governor and vice president.
