Dolton Investigates Possible Robbery Suspects' Link To Murder
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Dolton police are trying to determine if two men allegedly involved in an armed robbery may be tied to the murder of a 52-year-old man.
Officers were called to the robbery yesterday afternoon on Chicago's far South Side.
Police began following the suspect's vehicle with four men inside.
The chase continued through at least three suburbs before the car crashed near 144th and Halsted in Riverdale.
Two of the men were caught, and the other two fled.
Police are investigating to see whether the suspects are responsible for the death of Derrick Hampton, who was shot to death in Dolton Tuesday.
At one point, the chase got close enough to the Metra electric line tracks that trains were stopped.
