Dogs Attack In 3 Weekend Incidents In Elgin
ELGIN, Ill. (CBS) Elgin police responded to three incidents involving aggressive dogs over the weekend.
As WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports, one case involved a pit bull that ended up killing an innocent poodle, while another pit bull had to be shot and killed by police.

In the first incident around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Elgin police say a man and woman were walking the poodle they had just bought a few days earlier when they passed a house in the 400 block of Lawrence Avenue. A sign out front said, "Beware of dog."
Police say a pit bull jumped through a screened window, picked up their poodle and shook the smaller dog to death. The owners said they couldn't do anything.
The owner of the pit bull was punished with numerous citations, and agreed to pay for the dog and for its cremation.
In another incident involving a different pit bull, someone called police around 11 a.m. Sunday about a loose dog in the 400 block of Worth Avenue, the Daily Herald reported.
Responding officers were unable to restrain the dog, so an officer fired three shots and killed the animal, the Daily Herald reported.
In a third incident just before 6 p.m. Sunday, a boxer/Labrador mix ran out of its home and attacked a dog, who was walking with its owner past the home in the 1100 block of Spring Creek Road.
The owner of the victimized dog stopped the attack by kicking the offending dog in the ribs. The victimized dog survived, but suffered puncture wounds.
The owner of the attacking dog was issued a citation for dangerous behavior, reports said.
