Dog Found Left In Cage In Garage Put To Sleep
HARVARD, Ill. (STMW) - A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of whoever left a dog to die in a garage in northwest suburban Harvard.
The dog, a year old, light brown pit bull or pit bull mix, was found by McHenry County Animal Control on Dec. 7, abandoned in a garage in the 8500 block of Ferris Road in Harvard, a release from the McHenry County Sheriff's office said.
The dog was in a cage with several blankets and pieces of drywall debris, but no food or water, the release said. The animal was still alive but was suffering from such severe neglect that it had to be euthanized.
Anyone with information about the dog should call the sheriff's office at (815) 338-2144 or McHenry County Crime Stoppers at (800) 762-7867.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
