Does Angelo Deserve More Credit?
Not too long ago, many people were calling for Jerry Angelo to be fired. But there's no denying that he's made two moves that have lead the Bears to the playoffs this season.
Much like the criticism of Lovie Smith, much of the negativity towards Angelo dealt with the way he presented himself to fans.
"Well he certainly doesn't know how to handle the public spot light, I guess," Hub Arkush said on the Danny Mac Show. "And you know, I think it's fair to say that he's not the most football-bright, by the moves that he has made."

Despite the bad moves that Angelo has made, two of his most recent ones have resulted in the Bears winning the NFC North and ending the regular season with a 11-5 record.
"I got a hunch," Arkush said. "My guess would be one of the thing that may be kind of a burr in Jerry's saddle right now is that he's getting credit for Peppers, but I'm not so sure that he's gotten the appropriate credit for Jay Cutler."
When Angelo, and the Bears, made the trade for Cutler, they mortgaged part of their future to try to get something that this franchise has potentially never had.
"The Cutler move was a huge move," Arkush said. "It was a bigger move than Peppers. It was done first. And the reality of this football team is that, while I still don't trust this offense any farther than I can throw it, they're no better than .500 without Cutler right now.
"And he may not have only spent a lot of money on Julius Peppers, but he may have made a very smart trade for a franchise quarterback. And those are two pretty good deals, not just one."
