Division Leading Bulls Still Have Room To Improve
Here's a scary thought for the rest of the Eastern Conference. At 22-10 and three games behind the Boston Celtics, Bulls head coach, Tom Thibodeau, still sees room for his team to grow.
"We'll take wins anyway we can get them," Thibodeau said. "But we know that we have to improve in a number of different areas. We have some practice time now, where we can work on some stuff. So we have to take advantage of that."
The Bulls are an improved team defensively, and Derrick Rose has started to shine on the offensive end. But like most head coaches in the NBA, Thibodeau doesn't want his team to plateau.
"You look at the overall picture, defensively, we're never satisfied and we want it to be great," Thibodeau said. "And the offense, it's going to come. I think right now we're finding our way offensively."
Those sound like the words of the coach of a struggling team. Not a team that has positioned themselves as a legitimate contender with an MVP-caliber point guard. But this might be Thibodeau's way of squeezing every last ounce of ability out of his team.
