DiNardo: Arrogance Is A Curse & Weis Is Arrogant
(WSCR) Head coach Charlie Weis and the Kansas athletic department have had a rough week.
After Weis complained on Twitter about a student newspaper cover that depicted his football team as "road kill" before last week's game at Kansas State, sports information director Katy Lonergan later warned Daily Kansan reporter Blake Schuster about asking Weis questions at the weekly press conference. Then she went on a local radio station and added fuel to the fire.
Unfortunately for Weis and Lonergan, this is a battle they can't win.
"As you know, I'm not a big fan of Charlie Weis, so this doesn't surprise me," Gerry Dinardo told The Boers and Bernstein Show. "Arrogance is a curse, and he's arrogant. He's on a campus. He is responsible to make it a positive educational experience whenever he can. Not only for his students-athletes, but for anybody on campus. Why he wouldn't have brought that young journalist in and had a conversation with him that would've been productive on both sides - it's not only a good idea, it's his obligation."

DiNardo also has a problem with the University of Kansas not taking action to admit what Weis was wrong.
"What bothers me even more than that is where is the athletic director?" Dinardo said. "Where's the president coming out publicly and saying, 'This is not how we want our faculty and staff interacting with our young people that go to our university. I am going to reprimand him and I apologize to (the student) on behalf of the university and (the student's) family.' ... Where are the people that are running the University of Kansas? Do they have a clue? Seriously. They don't speak up? They don't reprimand him? You've got to be kidding me."
