Did Seahawks' TD Cause Small Earthquake?
The Seattle Seahawks upset the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the playoffs. While that win might have shocked the NFL, one touchdown may have shocked Seattle, literally.
According to Seattle's FOX Q 13, during Marshawn Lynch's 67-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter, the crowd roar was so loud that it may have caused a small earthquake.
At 4:43 p.m. PT Saturday, almost precisely the time of Lynch's run, the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network recorded a slight tremor from an old monitoring system located near the former site of the Kingdome.
PNSN scientists believe this is the first tremor ever caused by Qwest Field.
The Seahawks won't have the advantage of their home crowd for the second round. The Seahawks have to travel to Soldier Field and battle not only a Bears team out for revenge, but temperatures in the teens and the Soldier Field crowd.
