(CBS) Devin Hester was a battery victim last Friday at Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, police said Tuesday.
The Bears wide receiver was waiting in line for a cashier when Daniel G. Rago, 52, slapped the back of Hester's head and walked away. The incident was caught on a surveillance camera and Hester signed a complaint against Rago, who was later arrested.
Des Plaines Police Chief Jim Prandini said there was no argument or altercation before the incident and said Hester handled the manner in an "extremely professional manner…with a lot of class".
Rago's bond was set at $1,000 and his court date was set for Dec. 1. He could face up to a year in jail or a $2,500 fine if found guilty. He has been banned from Rivers Casino.
