Destroyed Animal Shelter Will Hold Adoption-Donation Event This Weekend
(CBS) -- Offers of help are pouring in for a Niles animal shelter that was decimated when a runaway school bus plowed into it.

The new temporary home of Wright-Way Rescue is a warehouse belonging to the Georgia Nut Company in Skokie. The facility Wright-Way had been renting for five years is destroyed.
"We were able to get permission from Skokie to house are animals at this location for a period of seven days, and so they were very generous in allowing us this opportunity," says Christy Anderson.
The no-kill animal shelter has found foster and permanent homes for the 21 dogs and cats that were here. But just like the animals they rescue, the shelter is now looking for their forever home, too.
Lemont business owner Kim Walter of All Critters Grooming wants to help Wright-Way Rescue with their animals during the transition.
"It's just like children, babies. They can't speak for themselves," she says of shelter animals.
Walter, a former vet technician, is offering 26 spaces for the shelter's animals.
"Whatever they need, I'm there. And I've got plenty of food," she says.
"It's overwhelming, the support from people that have been coming out. It's overwhelming and we really appreciate it," Anderson says.
She is hoping that generosity continues during an adoption and donation event the shelter is having Friday through Sunday.
It will be held in a tent outside the old shelter at the intersection of Touhy and Harlem in Niles. Hours will be 3-8 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
