Des Plaines High School Bans 'Grinding' At School Dances
DES PLAINES, Ill. (CBS) -- A high school in Des Plaines is the latest to crack down on sexually suggestive dancing, or "grinding."
As WBBM Newsradio's Regine Schlesinger reports, some other suburban districts already have a ban on the books on grinding, where dance partners simulate sex acts at school dances.

Now, Maine West High School is the first to act in Maine Township High School District 207.
"It's been around for a few years, but a few years ago, it was more isolated; it would be couples here and there that would be doing it, and it was, at that point, easy enough for a teacher or administrator to walk up and say, 'Hey, just knock it off,'" said district spokesman Dave Beery.
Beery says Maine West is adopting a policy of two strikes and you're out. Students will be given wristbands when they enter Maine West dances, and anyone who engages in inappropriate moves will lose his or her wristband.
If students persist in their suggestive dancing, they will be ejected from the dance.
There is no immediate plan to implement the ban on "grinding" at the district's two other schools – Maine East and Maine South in Park Ridge.
