Derrick Rose Expected To Play Tonight
(CBS) Bulls point guard Derrick Rose remains probable to play tonight against the Magic at the United Center as he recovers from two sprained ankles.
Rose's plan is to make a final decision after going through pregame warmups, but he's said he's feeling much better after spraining both ankles in Friday's loss to the Cavaliers. He left that game in the third quarter, then sat out Saturday's contest.
"I'm feeling good," Rose said after the morning shootaround. "Every day, it's improving. I'll come in early and stretch, get treatment. I'll try to give it a go after I see how I warm up.
"Just trying not to be negative about it. Just know there's a lot of basketball to be played. I'll be back out there pretty soon."
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau joked that Rose "looked pretty good to me -- a pretty handsome guy."
"He moved fine," Thibodeau said.
Bulls center Joakim Noah missed the morning shootaround with flu-like symptoms, and his status remains unclear for tonight. If he cant' play, Taj Gibson would start in his place -- assuming he's ready to play. Gibson also sprained an ankle Friday and sat out Saturday's game. He's probable to play tonight.
