DePaul Warns Students After Two Sexual Assault Reports
CHICAGO (CBS) – DePaul University is warning students of sexual assault on campus after a second incident was reported this month.
Chicago police are investigating an overnight sexual assault of an 18-year-old girl at Munroe Hall.
A criminal sexual assault was reported early Thursday. The incident occurred in the Munroe dorm, 2312 N. Clifton, between 1:45 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., according to a DePaul public safety alert.
The victim said she knew the male attacker, who is around her age and violated her after a party. She was taken to Illinois Masonic in good condition. Details remained spare for much of the day.
The Belden/Racine dorm is the focus of the second sexual assault investigation. The incident occurred less than two weeks ago.
A criminal sexual assault was reported Tuesday, Oct. 11. The incident occurred at the Belden/Racine dorm, 2311 N. Racine on Monday, Oct. 11 between 1:45 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
DePaul University told CBS 2 in a statement that they take sexual assault reports seriously and are committed to offering a "secure and supportive for individuals who report incidents of sexual and relationship violence."
