DePaul Students Attacked
CHICAGO (CBS) -- DePaul University police were warning students to be careful of their surroundings, after a student was attacked near the Lincoln Park campus Wednesday night.
WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports DePaul Public Safety officers were notified a female student was attacked as she was walking near the intersection of Sheffield Avenue and Altgeld Street around 7 p.m. Wednesday, when someone walked up and hit her with a blunt object.
The attack happened about a block north of the Seton Hall dorm on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus.
The woman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Police were searching for the offender, but a description was not available.
This week's attack happened just down the street from another one that occurred less than three weeks ago, in the alley next to DePaul's Seton Residence Hall. A third attack occurred in late September near DePaul's quad.
