Dent Selects College Coach As Hall Presenter
(CBS) Former Chicago Bear Richard Dent will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 6. He'll be the 30th person from the Bears organization to be inducted, but the first Tennessee State alumnus.
To honor his alma mater, Dent has selected Joe Gilliam, his college coach, as his presenter for the enshrinement ceremony.
Gilliam was the defensive coordinator during Dent's time at Tennessee State. He credits him for developing his football and life skills that made him successful on and off the football field.
In his 15-year NFL career, Dent recorded 137.5 sacks and 671 tackles. He was the 1985 NFL Super Bowl MVP after being an 8th round draft pick (203rd overall) in the 1983 NFL Draft.
