Dennis Rodman Is Hanging Out In North Korea
(CBS) Dennis Rodman is known for pushing the envelope quite a bit.
Whether it's his unusual attire, strange piercings, his marriage to Madonna or his bad-boy attitude, Rodman has been making headlines since he entered the NBA in 1986.
But now, Rodman is pushing the boundaries even further. The five-time NBA champion has reportedly arrived in North Korea where he will work with three members of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team for a Vice Media production to air on HBO in early April.
North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, is reportedly a huge fan of the 1990s Bulls, with whom Rodman won three of his NBA championships.
Rodman's trip to North Korea comes just two weeks after the country, which is currently in a state of war with the United States, conducted an underground nuclear test in direct defiance of U.N. bans against atomic activity.
"Is sending the Harlem Globetrotters and Dennis Rodman to the DPRK strange? In a word, yes," said Vice founder Shane Smith, who is host of the upcoming series. "But finding common ground on the basketball court is a beautiful thing."
