Deng Finishes Second For NBA's Sportsmanship Award
CHICAGO (CBS) The Chicago Bulls' Luol Deng finished second to Stephen Curry, of the Golden State Warriors, in the voting for the NBA's Sportsmanship Award, the league announced on Thursday.
The NBA will make a $10,000 donation on behalf of Curry to Habitat For Humanity East Bay, which uses volunteers to build affordable homes in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
For finishing second, Deng's foundation will receive a $5,000 donation from the league.
According to it's website, the Luol Deng Foundation "strives to provide hope to all refugee's returning to Southern Sudan through education and sports/recreation."
Deng received 84 first-place votes, and with 2,393 total points, finished just 52 points behind Curry.
