Delays Expected On Blue, Brown Lines For Track Work
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Maintenance work on the CTA Blue Line and Brown Line this weekend will lead to some minor delays for passengers.
Brown Line trains in both directions will run along the same track between Belmont and Southport stations from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and again from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to the CTA website. Crews will be performing track maintenance in that area.
On the Blue Line, trains will operate on a single track between Montrose and Addison from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday, due to maintenance under the Kennedy Expressway south of Montrose.
As a result, passengers will have to board and exit trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at Irving Park.
There will also be overnight work on the Blue Line between LaSalle and Grand starting Sunday night.
Between 11 p.m Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday, trains will operate on a single track between those stations and passengers will have to board on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Jackson, Monroe, Washington, and Clark/Lake stations. The same work will also take place overnight on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Work on both lines also will affect Train Tracker prediction availability.
