Decomposed Body Of Shooting Victim Found In West Englewood
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The body of a teenage boy was found decomposed with a gunshot wound to the head Thursday morning behind an abandoned house in the West Englewood neighborhood.
Seventeen-year-old Darryl Green, of the 6400 block of South Wolcott Avenue, was discovered about 11 a.m. in the 6500 block of South Damen Avenue, authorities said.
Green's apparent cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head that does not appear to be self-inflicted, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
At this time police are conducting a death investigation but have not ruled the teen's death a homicide, said police New Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
An autopsy was scheduled for Friday. Area South detectives are investigating.
