DCFS Investigating Death Of South Shore Infant
CHICAGO (STMW) - The state Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of neglect against the parents of a one-month-old girl who died Friday in the South Shore neighborhood.
Makyla Rogers, 1 month, of the 2500 block of East 77th St., was pronounced dead at South Shore Hospital at 7:01 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect against the parents, spokesman Jimmie Whitelow said.
An autopsy Saturday was inconclusive, pending the results of further studies, according to the medical examiner's office.
The agency had no prior contact with the family, Whitelow said. It was not immediately known if there were other children in the home.
