DCFS Investigating Abuse Allegations After Death Of NW Side Infant

CHICAGO (STMW) - The Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of abuse against the mother and father of a 3-month-old Northwest Side boy who died on Tuesday.

Jayden Tufele, of the 5100 block of West Ainslie St. was pronounced dead at Children's Memorial Hospital at 5:12 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

The infant apparently suffered a brain injury, as well as a fracture of the left clavicle, a source said.

DCFS spokesman Kendall Marlowe said the agency is investigating allegations of abuse against both Jayden's mother and father. There are no other children in the home and the agency has had no prior contact with the family.

Police could not immediately provide further details.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
