David Terrell: 'I Would Have Cut Off Both My Balls' To Play With A QB Like Cutler
(CBS) In the wake of the Bears trading former first-round pick Gabe Carimi, the RedEye put together a list of the top 15 draft busts in recent Bears memory.
On that list was wide receiver David Terrell, who was selected by the Bears with the eighth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.
Terrell didn't like his name being mentioned on this list, so he reached out to RedEye to voice his opinion, which you can read here.
One of the more notable things Terrell had to say was that he felt he never had a legitimate quarterback during his four seasons in Chicago.
So what would Terrell have given to play with a quarterback like Jay Cutler?
"I would have cut off both my balls," Terrell told the newspaper. "I'd give those up, no problem. You could have neutered me. I would've been neutered with a smile. Man, for real.
"What I'll say is this, to be able to play with a guy like Jay Cutler is one thing. Jay Cutler is without a doubt a top 10 quarterback in the league. No doubt about that. His knowledge of the game, his pocket presence makes him that. I never witnessed that in the NFL."
