Darlington: Paterno's Presser Unprofessional
(WSCR) At the press conference where Joe Paterno was publically fired from his post at Penn State, one reporter in attendance said it seemed more like a pep rally than a hard-hitting news conference.
"It was essentially 50 percent media and 50 percent fans," Jeff Darlington of the NFL Network told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "Far too much excitement for something that should've been much more grim. As I walked in and they announced it, one woman to my left gasped and her eyes welled up with tears. ... Honestly, the reporters that were there didn't seem very unbiased. I would say that they were asking questions in the same fashion that some of the fans might have."
