Danks Out Indefinitely With Shoulder Tear
CHICAGO (CBS) – White Sox pitcher John Danks is out indefinitely with a shoulder tear, he said Monday night.
The left-hander says he was told he has a grade-1 tear of his subscapularis, but won't need surgery. There is no timetable for his return.
Danks hasn't pitched since May 19 against the Cubs and is just 3-4 with a 5.70 ERA this season.
The White Sox originally categorized the injury as "general soreness" but after Danks didn't recover well from a rehab start in Charlotte last week, the team ordered an MRI Monday, which revealed the tear.
