There are other city officials and incoming officials talking to, but the mayor says he and Emanuel do confer.
When a reporter asked if they discuss city government, the mayor stopped.
"What do you think we do when I sit down with him, talk about Facebook? Talk about the Tribune or Sun-Times? No, we talk about government," Daley said. "We talk about all the problems that the federal government's going through; that the state government's going through – all these problems we talk about. Sure, you try to figure out what your solutions are."
Emanuel takes office, and Mayor Daley retires, on May 16.
